Fooooood

I promised myself that this year I would go ONLY to two Winterlicious dinners (http://www.toronto.ca/special_events/winterlicious/2013/index.htm). Quite a change after going to 5 dinners in the previous year. Talk about motivation!

I will do Scarpetta with my girlfriends but I am still undecided for the second dinner. I did not find any menu that wowed me so far. The Bodega menu looks good (http://wx.toronto.ca/inter/se/restaurants.nsf/Winterlicious/9A54046AF6E4786A8525739B0070BFD6?OpenDocument) but I also could go back to Chiado (http://wx.toronto.ca/inter/se/restaurants.nsf/Winterlicious/778D7D1C5B83942285257950006BA1A4?OpenDocument).... or try something else. It is amazing that even though I am on a diet, I spend so much time on daydreaming about food. Seriuosly! I could be spending time concerned about the French troops in Mali or focusing on my italian lessons, or even getting angry with the some of the Indian rapists that are still trying to proof that they are minor so they cannot get death penalty (although I really don't think I will be able to get the mental image of what may have happened to that girl from my mind)...

Anyway, if food was an obsession before I started this diet, today is a constant thought. Today I tried the omelet with chillies for breakfast and, honestly I don't know if the chillies reduced my appetite, but I can tell you that it was delicious! I also had berries with yogurt and all bran bus, pickled radishes, a brazil nut, and coffee with milk.

Cucumber with humus, all bran buds, and trail mix were my snacks for the day.

I had a Korean lunch today. Spicy pork with spinach and mushrooms.

Dinner was simple, healthy but a fatty splurge. A gluten free, low carb toast with a laughing cow triangle with smoked salmon and a small piece of avocado.

Aftermath 01/15/2013:

1068 calories
45 minutes of skating
20 minutes of circuit training
5 glasses of water
7.5 hours of sleep
Too many minutes thinking about foraging for the best Pide in town

No regrets!
Fernanda
