Cool Jazz and High Tea at the Old Mill Inn

When people ask me what I am looking for and what has made me start this quest I struggle with an answer. When I hear people telling me that I have everything and that I am extremely lucky, I don’t know how to describe how I feel. In reality, I know that my hard work has paid off, but I feel that there is something missing in my life. Sometimes I ask myself if it is meaning, sometimes I believe it is connection. I fact I think that they go hand in hand. According to Brené Brown, connection is the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgement; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship…. It may be it.

Back to the "diet". Well, I did behave well the entire day but I was so hungry during the high tea that I ended up eating all the bad carbs for the whole week! So bad. I had the best scones EVER!!!!

Breakfast was light and healthy. Omelet with cheese and chilies, half of an apple, red pepper and feta, a brazil nut, and coffee with milk.

Snacks today were tea, seaweed, all bran buds, and cucumber with hummus.

Then lunch was light and delicious! Sea bass with steamed bokchoy and mushrooms marinated with soy sauce.

Here is the menu for the high tea at the Old Mill Inn:

A Presentation of Delicate Finger Delights
Smoked Salmon
Cucumber & Fennel Cream Cheese
Black Olive & Sun Dried Tomato
Tapenade with Watercress Seedlings
Mushroom & Sweet Onion Tartlet

* * *
Lemon & Raspberry Tart, Almond Shortbread & Mini Carrot Gateau
* * *
Currant and Lemon Scones
Imported Devonshire Cream
Greaves Jams and Marmalade

Cheers,
Fernanda
